Monthly tea market's report |
Vietnam is the world’s 9th largest
tea producer. However, Vietnamese tea producers mainly exported
raw materials to intermediary countries at low prices due to the
lack of registered trademark and competitiveness. Vietnamese tea
refers to chiefly black tea and green tea which are produced
within Vietnam. They has a reputation for being cheap and are
often used for blending, but this is a misconception as a few
good teas exist, mostly of orthodox production. Good quality
teas may be tippy and have similar characteristics to both
Keemun and Yunnan teas, with less smokiness and more sweetness.
We also have some special Green Teas which are grown in Thai
Nguyen and some northern high mountainous areas.
Last year 2006, Future Generation
was the biggest tea exporter of Vietnam with 7,900 tons of
export output, increase 20% compared to 2005. We more and more
invest in tea plantations to control quality and pesticide
residue from those we make our blending tea. The new tea season will begin
around April and we are expecting for a good crop thanks to this
spring drizzly weather. In the past few years, there has been a
development of tea variety, farming technique and production and
method of production and pesticide control as well. Our
factories are ready to start collecting raw materials from our
gardens and farmers to prepare production line. All new samples
and prices will depends on so.
